Create your own poster with Urban Ink, a tool that turns the cityscape into ink. Discover and draw hidden aspects of the city.

Drawing the city, in the city. In this workshop, participants explore the streets of Harajuku and design an original poster using Urban Ink, a tool especially developed for CCBT’s relocation to Harajuku and which turns the urban landscape into “ink” for drawing. The instructors for the workshop are members of NEW Creators Club, a multifaceted (full-stack) design team who are also the art directors for CCBT’s relocation to Harajuku. Join them as they delve into the depths of Harajuku and design.

★Urban Ink Urban Ink is a tool that lets you draw the city with ink created from the city itself. You can cut out the interesting parts of an image or photo taken with a phone or tablet, and use them like a brush to draw pictures or write words. The development and art direction for the tool is by NEW Creators Club, the team responsible for the CCBT relocation visual design. Try out Urban Ink on the teaser website! https://renewal.ccbt.rekibun.or.jp/ ★Workshop Schedule Lecture: Urban Ink and Design After an introduction to CCBT, instructors from NEW Creators Club share the urban ink concept and the vision for the artwork participants will then create. A short lecture on design is also planned. Workshop 1: Go Out into the Streets Armed with a tablet, participants head out to Harajuku. They capture the details we normally overlook, from the shape of the streets to the color of walls, sounds, and smells. These collected materials form the “ink” for the Urban Ink tool. Workshop 2: Design a Poster After returning to CCBT, participants use the materials they collected to design an original Harajuku-themed poster using the Urban Ink tool. Participants then present their completed work to the instructors, who provide feedback. ※ In case of rain, some parts of the workshop may be modified. Date & Time: December 20 (Sat), 21 (Sun), 2025, 10:00-12:00 Duration: 120 min.
